Development of Oxygen Transport Properties by Olivine and Feldspar in Industrial-Scale Dual Fluidized Bed Gasification of Woody Biomass

چکیده
In dual fluidized bed (DFB) gasification, the interaction of material with fuel ash leads to development a catalytic activity toward tar-abating reactions. However, formation layers may also be detrimental process, especially in terms uncontrolled transport oxygen from combustor gasifier. A few previous studies investigating materials have reported transport, although latter was not focus these studies. This work verifies that olivine and feldspar, which are limited no intrinsic capacities, respectively, develop capacity by interacting ash. We correlate this activity. Our results imply volatile species released gas phase gasifier contribute developed transport. Sulfur is proposed as one components species, its potential contribution investigated. For support notion sulfur involved oxygen, both remaining within layer. The suggest other including ones, involved. These aspects investigated based on experimental obtained Chalmers gasifier—a semi-industrial-scale DFB gasifier—and isolated laboratory-scale experiments.

Pilot-scale gasification of woody biomass
The gasification of pine and mixed-hardwood chips has been carried out in a pilot-scale system at a range of gas flow rates. Consuming w17e30 kgh 1 of feedstock, the producer gas was composed of w200 dm m 3 carbon monoxide, 12 dm m 3 carbon dioxide, 30 dm m 3 methane and 190 dm m 3 hydrogen, with an energy content of w6 MJ m 3 for both feedstocks. It was found that the efficiency of the system ...

This paper presents a comparison of commercial fluidized bed gasifiers and combustors used to recover energy from municipal solid wastes and biomass. The work reported here is excerpted from four case studies prepared for the International Energy Agency’s Bioenergy Agreement, under Task 23 (Energy from Thermal Conversion of MSW and RDF, 1998-2000) and Task 36 (Energy from Integrated Solid Waste...
متن کاملSimulation of Biomass Gasification in Fluidized Bed Using Aspen Plus
Gasification is a thermo-chemical process to convert carbon-based compounds such as biomass and coal into a gaseous fuel. Among the various types of gasification methods, fluidized bed gasification is one which is considered as more efficient method than others as biomass is fluidized in a mixture of air/oxygen and steam. In the present study, a comprehensive steady state process model has been...
متن کاملBiomass Gasification in Fluidized Bed Gasifiers Modeling and Simulation
Using woody biomass as a resource for production of biofuel, heat and power through gasification has been studied for years. In order to reduce the cost of operating and to design the full-scale gasification plant developing a general model to be applicable for different ranges of input data with acceptable level of accuracy, is needed. In order to develop such model for the gasifier, as the ma...
